    [Un] Sorcery trap question

So, the sorcery specialization in Unangband has a few spells that have buggy descriptions, like Ancient Hex, Ever Burning Eye, Glowing Glyph. When browsed or cast, these spells behave as if one is trying to set a trap, and request an item.

Are these spells presently functional? Is this how they're supposed to work? What exactly are they supposed to do?

They "should" apply the effect of whichever item you choose in a region shaped per the spell which triggers when someone enters it. e.g. a wand which does 6d6 fire damage will end up creating a region which triggers for 6d6 fire damage.
