Hellband: Control S hangs on Vector Linux

    Greetings,

a repost from the hellband list :

    Hi,
The game compiled, and runs properly, but when I use Ctrl-s to
save the program freezes and you have to close the window. When you
restart the save has been made and you can continue.
When I used Ctrl-x to exit everything seemed alright until I
restarted the game only to be informed the character had died from a
panic save. (Faerie, Seelie Fae, High Mage, Chaos)
    Otherwise it's a great game.
    Thanks
    Ken
Since Hellband has a 'venerable' code base, I would expect that maybe someone encountered this already in Vanilla or a variant and remembers how (s)he fixed it ?

That's the gcu version, and you need to disable the stop ^s and start ^q stty settings.
You can do it from the command line with
    $ stty raw

    before running the program

    and
    $stty sane at the end.

there's also a program interface which I forget how to do.

Vanilla does this correctly. Check out main-gcu.c

If you need help I can take a look later and point you to the right place.
