Any variant with uncapped stats?

Hi! I started to play Angband a few years ago and Im pretty much in love with every aspect of game except stats are having caps. Since I really like idea of infinite progression of my character, I'd like to know if there is any variant of Angband set in Middle-Earth without those pesky stat limits? Or is it easier to remove stat limits by myself from nightly build? What exactly should I change or remove? Thanks!

Angband uses tables for many calculations that directly depends on stats. If you want to remove the stat limits, this means changing many bits of code from using tables to using mathematical formulae, which could be tricky to implement.
