[S but others can prob. help] 'Evacuating' a Command?

    Hi,

I like to use ~ for macros due to its nicely ergonomic position, but every now and then I do appreciate the orginal command that's beneath it. Is there any way to "evacuate" that command over to some other key, ideally a function key?

    Cheers,

The \ key is the "ignore macros for the next command" key. Therefore \~ should do what you want. Two keypresses, but it's not too bad if you use it sparingly.

Hmm... only seems to work for keymaps (the command description in [S] actually mentions keymaps specifically in fact). Which is fine, since the things I want to macro are apparently keymap-friendly. I just wish I knew the practical difference between keymaps and macros... it's a little scary sometimes not knowing. :-)

I think the difference is basically that keymaps are only valid when the game is waiting for your next command during play, while macros are also valid in menus and the like. But don't quote me on that.

Seems you're right. It's really appreciated, since I have also always loved using Backspace in macros, but hated the consequences. Yet another great "macro" key made problem-free -- thanks!
