All Artifacts are destroy-resistant, so you didn't lose any arts.

Some egos are acid resistant (they have the IGNORE_ACID flag in ego_item.txt if you want to check spoilers), other not. You may have lost some egos in the acid breath.

Whether they were id'ed or not doesn't effect their chance of acid destroying them.

      Thanks again for your answers.

Maybe it's just me, but I find Entro harder than [V]. There seem to be more monsters that spit acid, mess with your stats, and move faster than you. In fact, most things seem to move faster then me at speed (+0). When they flee, I never catch up to them, I have to shoot them.

I also snuck a peek at the spoilers here on Oook. I assumed that the spoilers for Heng 1.6 would apply to Entro. Now I haven't found any artifact cloaks yet. I looked at the Cloak section and noticed that some are fairly low level, as mentioned in their descriptions, levels 3-10. Now I get the idea that a level 80 item is not likely to show up at level 30, but now that I am exploring level 30 is it less likely or more likely for these low level artifact cloaks to show up? Or is that controlled more by rarity?

[OT] I just found The Katana 'Zantetsuken' (10d4) (+17,+21). Wasn't that in Final Fantasy VIII? I could have sworn that there was a summonable guardian force that came on a horse and sliced your foe in half with Zantetsuken. Maybe I'm just getting old.

        Just ask google.
        Very long google cache link.

        Edit:
        It's about the Zantetsuken.

The unique monster Ishikawa Goemon has a 75% chance to drop the sword, so I guess it is a reference to the Lupin III Anime sword also mentioned in the linked Article.
Anyway... Did you notice what is special about Zantetsuken apart from the fact that it speaks?

I usually use another sword, so I hadn't noticed anything else other than it speaks...and it took a few kills with it before I noticed that as well.
