    Zangband with tiles ?

    Hi all!
Im new to rogues and im trying to play zangband with tile graphix like I do with angband (angband -g -- -b)
I have installed zangband with apt-get (apt-get install zangband zangband-data) on debian. I have try all commands that zangband -? suggest with no luck..
I also notice that /var/games/zangband/lib/ folder is empty (I think is the place that tiles exist but im not sure).
Can anyone pls give me some advise? Should i purge my installation and compile the game my self? or I have just get used to ascii??

Not sure about Zangband, but there is Z+Angband which has 32x32 tile support. Yeah, I know, it's unfinished, but IMO, it's better than playing without tiles. You can get Z+ from the 'variants' tab, and the graphic files (if they are not included) from the link in my sig.

        Thnx for reply mate.
I think Ill stay with vanilla a little longer.
The main reason i want tiles (like in vannila) is the way of "line of sight" looks.
(btw in zangband my torch lite up only one square distance. Is this normal?)

That z+angband you recomend looks very promising though.
When you say "unfinished" are you referring to the tile support or to the game itself?

ps: must admit that im shame for my self coz i discover rogues only recently (gamer since early 80's)

ZAngband is based on an older version of Vanilla in which torches had only a 1-tile radius. The larger torch light is a more recent change to Vanilla.

The tile support is there (though no 'big tile mode') but the tile set is incomplete (my own project that I've temporarily abandoned). The good news is that you won't notice graphics missing until you get deeper into the game/dungeons. Screenshot.
