I found a Ring of Fate yesterday and was wondering what it does. The spoiler file says that it has the "strange_luck" flag. What does this do, exactly, other than, "warp fate around you." Thanks!
It has a variety of effects. Basically it increases the frequency of rare events, but it works for both good events and bad events. High-level items are more likely to be generated but so are out-of-depth monsters. You get critical hits more often, but so do the monsters.
