    Basic Sangband question

I'm using Sangband 0.9.9b13 on OSX. I can't figure out how to chose a magic realm. What am I missing? Thanks.

I think I understand your problem. If you can bring up the skill screen (I think the button is either "G" or "$") and put a point into spellcraft it'll prompt you to choose a realm at the top of the screen. It's sort of tucked away up top, it took me a while to notice it at first.

      Thanks

That did it. I've not played the new version of Sangband before and was putting experience into Holy Alliance without effect.

Just to clarify -- putting points in holy alliance will make your spells more reliable (and a few of them more potent). Putting points into Spellcasting will offer you more spells and make most of them more potent.

Are you aware that there is a version 1.0.0 out? Normally you'd find it on runegold.org/sangband, but Leon has been away for too long. You can find a mirror (and a bugfix or a gameplay changed version) at http://middendorfproject.googlepages.com/sangband

AFAIK, 0.9.9b13 is the last version that was compiled for MacOSX, though the Windows version seems to work on Wine if you have an Intel Mac.
