How do you get/use pets? i found the cmd to command your pets but now how to get one...
What else do I need to know to play this variant? and hints or tips?Leave a comment:

Macros are under the @ command 'interact with macros' not the '=' menu.
(I know, I suggested moving it but apparently that's where the Japanese players are used to finding it
)
If you want more detailed information / help files then many of the ones for XAngband apply to TinyAngband as well. TinyAngband is a 'quick' variant so doesn't go into great detail in the help files.
Oh yes, I'll also take this time to mention that TinyAngband is compatible with the Vanilla Angband sound files so you can use the excellent Sound collection from Dubtrain.Leave a comment:

Is there no way to use macros in this variant? I can't find it in the = menu...Leave a comment:

Hi, everyone.
I've just released bug-fix version, TinyAngband 0.0.3a, that addresses a few bugs.
Buying/Selling bugs and a bug in writing the causes of death (and scores) are fixed.
I also I weakened the deathswords a bit - their blows are now half of what they were.
Please enjoy it, and challenge the competition.
Best regards.

Haven't been able to get it to happen again, but when it does I'll send it on over. I went ahead and sent you a savefile with the list problem. Look forward to seeing these resolved - Tiny looks like great stuff.Leave a comment:

That's also something where a save file (or screen shot) would be useful. If you would be so kind.-Autocentering occasionally has the player way off to the side or off the screen, requiring you to resize the screen and then maximize again to reset it.

Sure. That would help. My email's blay.paul AT googlemail.com
x's indicate areas where traps could be because you haven't stepped on them. (That's what iks passed on to me).-When exploring dark rooms, x's and blank spaces seem to fill in the player's wake at random, without using detection spells.Leave a comment:

If I press "r" to read a scroll, the game asks, for instance:
...and there's no list of scrolls. Pressing * doesn't help, just switches the prompt to:Code:(Inven: e-h, (, ), ESC) Read which scroll?
Same with other lists, like using a staff or dropping an item.Code:(Inven: e-h, * to see, (, ), ESC) Read which scroll?
Exiting the game and then reentering fixes it.. for a while. Then it goes back to not displaying the list. Not sure what screws it up. (Trying to quaff a potion with only one potion in my pack did it once.. but isn't repeating it.) If I detect a pattern I'll let you know. Want the savefile?Leave a comment:

As a personal victim of death swords at least three times I sympathise greatly. Also, I'd seriously think about nixing death swords, unless you intend for the player to 'l'ook at every weapon they come across, which isn't fun. I've died to two so far (and only played about 10 minutes of the game total). But I understand it's a longstanding issue in Z derivatives..
Frequent detect monsters is the most practical way to protect yourself, but isn't perfect (I suppose they can spawn post dungeon level entry) and non-spell casting characters are at a disadvantage.
Given the time in Japan I think iks may be asleep now but I'll be sure to bring all your points to his attention.
The price is shown, but was overwritten by the prompt. This is now fixed in the SVN (I don't think a re-release is likely for that issue alone but that may happen later if more substantial changes are made).-When buying or selling, after agreeing on a price and prompting you to confirm, the game doesn't actually tell you what the decided amount is.
I think there is some method to that. I think it may show something like where you've potentially checked for traps by walking by them (or something). It doesn't bother me but I'll check with iks about it.-When exploring dark rooms, x's and blank spaces seem to fill in the player's wake at random, without using detection spells.
It seems to work perfectly well for me. Could you give more detail on what happens?-Inventory selection lists don't work, e.g. for reading scrolls (neither automatically, nor using * to display them), regardless of whether the autolist option is on or off.Last edited by PaulBlay; March 16, 2009, 16:12.Leave a comment:

Thanks for fixing the buying bug so quickly. A couple other issues I ran into after a little play on winXP:
-When buying or selling, after agreeing on a price and prompting you to confirm, the game doesn't actually tell you what the decided amount is.
-When exploring dark rooms, x's and blank spaces seem to fill in the player's wake at random, without using detection spells.
-Inventory selection lists don't work, e.g. for reading scrolls (neither automatically, nor using * to display them), regardless of whether the autolist option is on or off.
-Autocentering occasionally has the player way off to the side or off the screen, requiring you to resize the screen and then maximize again to reset it.

Buying a dagger or a main gauche from the initial comp save also causes a software bug crash and a panic save..
A rapier is ok. =/
edit: buying ?phase crashes.
edit2: Ah.. I read your (Paul's) post more carefully. Awaiting a fix.Leave a comment:
