I've checked out a bug that Roger N reported earlier, and I consider it serious enough that it needs an announcement. Basically, "autosave_l" can produce savefiles that are corrupted. I highly suggest that you turn off "autosave on entering a new level" for now. Timed autosave works properly.
This can lead to a savefile corruption, but the good news is that I can fix it. If anyone lost a character to this bug, email it to me and I can probably get your savefile back.
