    ZangbandTK Help!

I know that this is a dead variant that no one, but me, seems to play. However I thought that I would give this a shot anyway.

I'm a Lvl50 High Elf Chaos Warrior on dengeon level 40, if I go any deeper I die almost instantly...having said that Level 40 is still pretty dangerous.

Anyway to my problem I was playing away happily enough, just found a couple of decent artifacts and was doing pretty well when all of a sudden every time I try to move I get an error message

"can't read "info": no such variable"

Now this doesn't stop play but causes the same window to pop up constantly everytime I move.

Anyone have any idea how to rectify this?

      Wow that sounds annoying.

Just as an experiment, try removing those artifacts you recently found and see if it helps. My suspicion is that this is a bug in a LUA script for an artifact.

Managed to fix it, by teleporting away, recalling to home and saving and quitting then going back in to the dungeon. Was tricky to get the timing right before it crashed!!

I hope it's fine to reuse this thread.

I too am playing this variant, and I rather like it. My only concern is that using the arrow keys to move results in movement too fast to be controllable. Is there a way to slow down the frame rate or possibly even slow movement in particular? I would be completely happy with either, or even some third solution. It just bugs me to have to click once for every square I move across.

Oh and if it requires intense programing, it's fine, forget I asked.

The speed of movement is dependant on the whether or not you have a certain option highlighted. Something along the lines of 'Run past Known Corners'. So if you are running past corners all you have to do is de-select that and you'll be fine.

It was originally put in I think back when computers weren't as powerful as they are now. You should be able to play the game now with the full enchilada of options turned on.

I love zangband240. That is the only version I play. You might also know that The TK240 version also has the borg enabled. I have been actively been developing the 240borg the past few months.

                  Hi,

I've got a solution for Blob of Evil if, like me Curinor's solution did not work.

The problem is not that the emulation is running too fast, but that the lightest of presses onto the arrow keys sends you character running headlong all the way across the map.

Now I know that the Numpad is recommended, but playing it on a laptop as I am, I have no Numpad.

After much playing around, the following seems to have solved it.

First get into your game and press @.

This loads up the Macro screen.

                  Change the following:

                  Up to \e8
                  Down to \e2
                  Left to \e4
                  Right to \e6

                  This should fix the problem.

Hope this clears it up for you.
