    Woah. I don't think I've ever scored more than 8 rods of TO. Certainly never 11. You are probably nearly ready for the endgame:
    500+ damage/turn
    Plenty of !heal, !*heal*
    20+ speed
    A handful each of *Destruction * and Mass Banishment
    800+HP. (The more the better, of course.)

    Saruman was way easy..I did encounter him on a level with something of chaos it hit me and I think something breathed and killed it. So was hallucinating the whole fight..which wasn't very fun. Found him in a ..or around a lesser vault the fight got a bit weird as I ran around it due a few time hounds ..again. I have 11 T/O rods at this stage. I have made my peace and just T/O stuff all the time now. No point in picking a fight with some of these mobs.

    ...ok time to venture DEEP and see how I do. Found the small shield of thornin in that lesser vault which I think is really good.

    I have double immunity Acid and Lightning. 240AC.. I think Shards is my big gap on weakness and only one resist to nether...Can't really fix those unless I find something.

    So see how low I can go!!

    pretty much, assuming you have rDis, and you've dug an ASC. And your devices are cached. He's more problematic out in the open. But like any other tough unique, it's a mug's game to fight him at level, unless your character is crazy strong.

    I've never struggled too much with Saruman. He doesn't do any scary breath damage and he's not a spam summoner. He teleports away which is annoying, but you can always hunt old Sharkey down

    Yeah I defeated the Balrog of moria and he dropped boots of speed. The game is now dropping boots of speed like crazy so wonder if items are generated until certain unique are killed ...

    +8 total game changer

    right. But I meant something different. In this case, the Balrog can't blow up the staff. Of course there are plenty of other ways to drop the staff out of range.
    Code:
    ##.#
    #[COLOR="violet"]U[/COLOR]##
    ##@#
    #.##
    ##_#

    Isn't it sometimes risky to drop the staves near the battlefied? The balrog breathes fire, those staves are lost for sure.

    The main point is: if you see the message "energy drains from your pack", you are losing charges. It means you can't face M and S with staves or wands in melee, and for other such monsters, either avoid them, or hide your devices before beginning battle. (An extra 2 squares in an antisummoning corridor is enough, so long as you don't back up.)

    I have fought a lesser balrog just to see how I would do..liches seem come up quite often. I encounter grand master mystics far more often than I would like too.. if thats the guy. Otherwise the only
    Unique person I keep bumping into summons the Phoenix as his go to move so I scoot out of there.

    Last night right before I crashed I walked around a corner and bam time hounds everywhere. Must have been tired cause I swore I used staff of detection, but might have been walking around on a 6-8 level... a bit too fast./playing tired Anyhow .. low hit point warning ! Oh shoot really low 200ish hit points. I stepped away and then fled and recalled back home before calling it night. I still have aether hounds coming up? Yikes. Anything else I should be avoid dl60-70s that I might not remember. Playing super risk adverse now

    (I love fighting summoners who summon more summoners as a note)

    or certain human uniques? But liches are indeed the usual suspect here. All of them drain charges, and they're pretty common.

    Have you been meleeing liches? Or Balrogs?
    If so, that's a very silly thing to do.

    Nothing resists time

    This thing all things devours:
    Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
    Gnaws iron, bites steel;
    Grinds hard stones to meal;
    Slays king, ruins town,
    And beats high mountain down.

    obviously something invisible. You need a ring of SI.

    As for *what* is hitting you, some stupid monster added in 4.2 by Nick, surely.
