how to .. copy-paste a wepon stats?

i see people copy-paste here all the time a weapon's stats, including the damage/round, and i'm curious as to how you do that prior to generating the spoilers/file dump.

Is it that you do a file dump and grab it from there?

I hesitate to use the file dump becuase apparently once you do one, you can't overwrite it. Of course you can delete it and replace it, as long as you don't forget like i did ...

Must be an OS specific thing.
On a Windows machine, if the dump file already exists, i get a "Replace existing file (y/n)?" prompt. In addition, i always get a prompt for the file name, where i can change it from the default one.

so, from the C menu, yes, i got the prompt, and it works.
But (i do not know 100% for sure) on a previous character, i did a file dump from the C screen at CL47, before doing Sauron/Morgoth (pre-fight shot) and then another file dump at the victory screen, and the file was not overwritten.

I do not remember if i got the prompt, maybe i didnt see it, but possibly did not get it. The story is just that i never got my winner file dump.
