    Dark-on-light display

In curses mode, is there a way to get a light mode, day mode, or whatever you'd like to call a display that's primarily black-on-white instead of white-on-black? I have bad eyesight, and I keep hoping I'll get used to white-on-black, but I don't.

    Kodiologist--
I assume you already can set up your screen for black text on light background. Once you do that, though, you will need to "modify colors" under the '=' command. Then save the colors to your pref file so you don't have to do it again. I have the opposite (more common) problem, that light screen gives me eyestrain after a while.

Note: you will want to make the color for white into some kind of grey *before* changing the background color, or you won't be able to see your work. (It'd be white on white.)

Thanks. I'm having trouble settling on a color scheme that I like: it's hard to find colors that are all readable yet also sufficiently distinct. I think Angband relies too heavily on whole words or phrases being colored, in place of single colored characters or other visual separation (such as headers). I would find monster memory a lot more readable in a tabular format, like the ones I've seen in variants, than in running prose, but ultimately that's a separate issue.
