I found it odd actually. In the past you didn't see this type of money source until much deeper in the game, when you were facing multi-colored baby dragons and what not. You'd be lucky to get to silver coins at 50'.

well it occasionally happens, i too found 300g worth of rubies the very same day and thought it unusual, but i've otherwise seen ridiculously rare drops happen, from Wrath Of God dropped by Farmer Maggot (yes, in town), to Trident Of Wrath dropped by Boldor on DL5, Slings Of Buckland on DL2, Kelek on DL13, and today i found a Ring Of Power on DL16.

Today my Dunadan Warrior found the One Ring at 2300' - in a small lesser vault. Bizarrely, the level feeling was only a 6 (Good) !!

Now at DL99 about to go and get Morgoth. Same character has also picked up Ringil, Aule, Stormwalker, PDSM, Fingolfin and Cubragol.

I don't think I've ever played any version of Angband past the 1800' mark. I remember one time I got 'Sting' fairly early in the game. But that was back when scumming for good levels was still a thing.

I guess you're playing with no selling in the current version. Before, you would get the 5x money drop only starting from 250ft, now you can get it right from 50ft.

Nope. I never play with no selling. I find it to be an odd option to have.
