I've seen so many posts over the year of how cavern levels are too dangerous, not worth exploring, are just levels to skip. This does not match my own experience. I think caverns are literally the safest level for any character diving hard & with access to mapping, light rays & other core util. I find the loot to risk ratio of these levels to be much better then a standard level. These levels seem to be fantastic breathers (as in relaxing, not the other kind) for a character well below safe depth.
I like cavern levels

I don't enjoy cavern levels as much as the other levels, but I don't have anything against them and they add flavour.
I think for me they just aren't as interesting to explore. It might be better if Light Area worked a little more effectively too"This has not been a recording" -
Ive never found anything good in them, drop-wise. I dont know if they have less loot allocation or what, but in my experience they are not worth as much as a regular level.
We're talking about the BIG cave levels here; the one that has few, large caves, and occasionally a tiny part of dungeon on the corner. Not the ones which are zig-zag thin cave-like corridors."i can take this dracolich"Comment
