    Sound pack

Interesting how many players actually plays Angband with the sound?
As a sound producer, I'm going to create completely new sound pack with better ambients/sounds/etc so I need some kind of statistics.

I also always play with sound and find it very important. I especially like the sound of "it was good hit!" and "it was a *GREAT HIT*!"

I played Rogue recently, but missed not having sound.

        sound

I play with disabled sound, since i usually listen to music while playing.

Can you post this as a poll, to get a more detailed response? (When I create a new thread there is a "Yes, post a poll with this thread" button, but I'm not sure if it's a feature that is unlocked only after a certain number of posts.)

(Anyway, I never used in-game sounds. Sometimes I listen to external music, but most of the time I play in complete silence.)

I'd be more likely to use sounds if they gave more information (like DoomRL).

This may sound weird, but does anyone play Pokémon Go? It uses the sounds from the original Gameboy games, which I believe had a square wave, triangle wave, noise, and a primitive wave table synth. The sound effects in that game, which runs on modern smart phones, are extremely anachronistic but would fit Angband’s esthetic quite well. Does anyone else think so?

I don’t play Angband with sounds but now after reading this thread I’m more inclined to do it.

you should check TomeNET ( https://www.tomenet.eu/ ) SFX system and sounds itself. It's perfect. Just needs to be ported to Angband
