    Lightning Bolt vs Frost Bolt

I haven't played as a Mage a lot, so maybe I am missing something here.

In the second book of Spells, Conjuring and Tricks, we have the Lightning Bolt and Frost Bolt spells. While LBolt always produces a beam, FBolt mostly produces a Bolt and sometime a beam.

So, wouldn't Lightning Beam be a better name? I am having to look at the description again and again when faced off against a corridor packed with Orcs.

    Short answer: Yes

Longer answer: I'd quite like 'bolt','beam', 'breath' and 'ball' equivalents of all the standard attack spells. I'll test that out one day

We inherited the name from DnD, where there is Fireball (targetted AOE) and Lightning Bolt (hit all enemies in a line).

D&D inherited the name from real life, where the term 'lightning bolt' (or 'thunderbolt') is current. Renaming storm spells and lightning bolt won't be an improvement.

Unlikely; that would require D&D players to know what real life is.
