Finding Speed Items - Abnormal Drop Rate

I just found a RoS +15 and two pairs of BoS +6 between Dlvl 25 and Dlvl 35 while diving, is this a normal depth for these to occur at? I also found a rod of speed. Currently when hasted I am at 3.8x speed, and I haven't dived past Dlvl 40 (Clvl 31).

Edit: BoS found off a unique and in a 5-9, RoS found in another 5-9, but I've only been playing with this character for a few days now.

    That isnt usual, no. But
    1. What version are you playing?
    2. How many turns have you played (and how many levels repeated?)
    3. Hiw many x/9 feelings have you had?
That said, finding the speed rings in partucular is just luck. Finding too many 9 feeling objects is a known issue.

Only 3 x/9 level feelings. After playing a little more, I am on turn 816669, was around turn 600000 when I got the ring. I've dived much more since this post - Dlvl 51 atm (Clvl 35). No MAX stats yet. I repeated Dlvl 30 - 40 about 3 times per floor, but missed a few (3) due to falling through pit traps. Maybe just luck.

Playing on the most recent version.

That is a lot of rounds but still lucky. I rarely win with better than a +11 RoS. But you can win the game in less rounds so not really a problem that it happens

I've found randart boots +14 speed dropped by a blue yeek at 100ft once. So no, that's not uncommon...

I would fall out of my chair if that happened to me. I thought my 9/4 elvenkind boots on dL 34 was bonkers. How did the rest of that game go?

A recent character of mine found a RoS+11 lying on the floor at 1000', went onto win with no real problems.
Current Dunedin Warrior obtained Ringil at 1500' when it was dropped by Angamaite of Umbar. Both in 4.1.3.

                That was for comp 216:

                Code:
                l) the Pair of Iron Shod Boots 'Avanc' [4,+18] <+14>
Dropped by a blue yeek at 100 feet (level 2)

                     +14 speed.
Cannot be harmed by acid, fire.
                     Slows your metabolism.
And I've calculated the chance of this happning here: http://angband.oook.cz/forum/showthread.php?t=8942

1/720000 chance... and that's if all items in the game were Iron Shod Boots.

BTW why do you need speed when you have this absurdity...

                  Code:
                  i) the Leather Shield of Idrot [8,+17] <+5, +4, +2, +1>
Found lying on the floor at 3050 feet (level 61)

                       +5 wisdom.
                       +4 constitution.
                       +2 attack speed.
                       +1 light.
Provides resistance to acid, lightning, fire, cold.
                       Cannot be harmed by acid.
                       Prevents paralysis.

When activated, it destroys an area around you in the shape of a
circle radius 15, and blinds you for 1d10+10 turns.
Takes 372 to 456 turns to recharge at your current speed.
Your chance of success is 78.5%

That shield is ridiculous. I repeat my claim: randarts are broken.
