Wow was that close.

I teleported next to two mobs, one a death drake. I killed one fast but the drake was too hard so I had to teleport again with low HP.

Got to a room with several easy monsters and started killing them, in a few turns a big green breath attack hit me - the dragon had come.

I'd cast recall after the first teleport and was waiting for it to take effect.

The third teleport was way across the dungeon next to a few easy mobs but I only had 34 HP left out of 427! But I got out.

Hm, is a rod of disable traps worth it... I've had traps do things like summon really nasty stuff when I try to disable them, so maybe.

I got better boots of speed - +5 instead of +3 - but my weapon shows the same damage each round with either.

For some reason my STR went down to 18/190. I drank a potion of strength and it didn't change.

I'm not sure but just before that I think it might have been at 187 and I drank another and it went up just 3 to 190.

Wondering if I should do anything before drinking another, why that happened. Darn thing cost 24000...

Look at your character screen and see if you have 18/100 for strength, anything above that will be added from your items to bring you up to 18/190 and any further item plusses will get you to the max of 18/***.

AMHD does an avg of 84 dam/turn in melee, and 620 unresisted breath damage. )That is 205 damage with single resist, and about 150 atrenuated from a good distsnce away.) So long as he isn't in melee range, you should be fairly safe teleporting him away.

Well, my logic is that if he somehow got me from 427 to 237 in one round when it says his attack missed, how much can he do round 2 if he hits?

Most likely, you changed your equipment and didn't notice that you'd removed gear with a strength modifier.

18/100 is the highest that any stat can go before counting racial and equipment bonuses. The full character page provides a breakdown of what components of your stats come from what sources. Also, the sidebar summary of your character's stats changes subtly to indicate that you're maxed out. IIRC, it's something like Str! vs Str:.

Found red dragon scale mail - think I'll drop it and keep Arvedui.

Might wear the boots of stability - I'm getting teleported a lot. "Come Hither", and this level "go away" a lot.

Hm I see a mature multi-hued dragon - anywhere near as bad as ancient? Worth wasting my arrows of dragon slaying?

Edit: he showed up and I meleed him - only problem is, he destroyed my rod of teleport other with his lightning. Hate that.

Zweihander of Acid dropped by Uvatha the Horseman... about 50 to 75 less damage, so I'll drop it.

Ran into an ethereal dragon - very hard. Had to use 2 potions of healing and recall - he was outdamaging my CCW and had me under 100HP and confusing every turn.

Finally got him, getting a few hits in while confused - dropped white dragon scale mail of craftsmanship, but it doesn't look good. And an unknown scroll.
