    Prices capped?

So I wasn't looking and sold some artifacts, not realizing even 20k au pieces are capped at 5k when sold to shops. Can that limit be turned off?

The price caps actually vary depending on which shopkeeper is running the store; 5k is the worst case scenario. You can raise the cap as high as you want by editing store.txt, or just switch to playing no-sell like everyone else, in which case it really doesn't matter.

      Hi!

I went selling-on and just held onto valuable stuff until I got around to that edit, but now my home is full of artifact weapons (it's the weapon guy who maxes at 5k so that's what I haven't sold off).

But I can't find this store.text file. I've got 4.1.2, there don't seem to be any files other than the save files.

      Suggestions?

The file you are after is in lib>gamedata.

You can sell weapons in the black market and (sometimes) in the temple, too. Yeah, it's painful selling for 5000GP sometimes, but it rarely turns out to be a disaster. (You might miss a CON potion in the black market, but it's not the end of the world.)

Hmm. I have only an app, and no library files. I think that's beyond my technical ability, if I can't command-f it...

The app *is* a directory. You can open it with command-click or hold-click. (I suppose it is now right-click on new Macs.) Or you can just navigate to it with cd in a terminal window.

Thanks for the handholding. ; )
