I don't play redbook classes very often, but when I do, I get gifted +8 dam caestus. Not when I'm a Paladin or Warrior, only when I'm redbook.

Well, I could use them I suppose. Magic isn't really that important to a ranger.

Two ?Acquirements and said Caestus on DL24 3-5 feeling (all three items scattered about randomly over the level, no special rooms).

And... I found my first scroll of blessing on DL26 after 26K turns. How is that... I don't even.

Yep. The icky gloves are not a big problem for ranger or rogue, unless you are having difficulties casting haste self or Resistance. Nothing else needs much mana on a regular basis.

Oh happy day! Spirit Naga drops Lorien Bow <X5> on DL38! I am a Hobbit Ranger. This is simply amazing. And I already have some arrows of frost, too.

Oh no! Look at all these Gravity Hounds. Whatever am I going to do? How about pelt them with a bunch of slay animal arrows before they even know what hit them? DL38 and I'm doing 411 dam a round to animals with the bow.
