    Speeeeeeeeeeeeed

So, I just found a Ring of Speed +19, which may be a personal high for me. My mage now has a base speed of +35, so +45 with speed cast.

I have never encountered so many speed items before. If I had kept all my speed items to optimize speed, it would have included a crossbow with +8 speed, some other item (I forget which) with +11 speed, and several other items adding +4 speed. I could easily have put together a character with +63 base speed.

I have also found more arrows/bolts of Holy Might this game than ever before--perhaps even more than in most of my previous games put together. Too bad I don't have a ranger.

Man, I keep getting more and more Holy Might bolts. I currently have 98 bolts of Holy Might--and I haven't been hoarding such bolts, either.

Just got a superfluous shield with +14 speed. This guy could have been the Flash.

Hmm can you constantly double move Morgoth? Pillar dance him with all those HM bolts?

The usual way to pillar dance M is to run in a circuit around a small GV, taking a shot at each corner, then retreating to the next. To guarantee a free turn, you need to shoot arrows at the ground with a +shots bow just as he makes the turn. You don't need to be all that much faster than he.

It is impossible to actually double Morgoth's speed. At +30 speed you get 38 energy per game turn (remember you need 100 energy to get a player turn), and the maximum energy per game turn gain is 49 at +70 speed.

That said, if you have multiple shots per turn, then your turns use less than the 100 normal energy, which allows you to easily get twice the actions that Morgoth gets...so long as all of your actions are shooting missiles. So you could pillardance by shooting Morgoth when he moves into view, then backing away. You'd still need to find a pillar made of permanent rock, though, and those are pretty rare.
