The town needs a better class of unique. I playtested this one for a while. He makes visits to town a bit more interesting.

Maybe, but I kind of thought of him as serving an educational purpose. New players need to understand as quickly as possiblie that

• you don't want to fight everything
• stealth is important

Well, yeah. But a starting Troll Paladin would never survive that guy, if he showed up before around cl 30, and even then, it'd be a hard, hard fight. Speed 30? Turn him into a death mold, and I can just see it.

OK, yeah. But I think he needs better distance attacks. Just status effects won't do. Maybe Nether Ball? Or just breathe fire? There's protection available in town, from time to time for that one.
