Fastest Smeagol Kill?

Just started a new character, a half-troll fighter. Ran into Smeagol on DL3. Really didn't have any $$ to lose, and knew I was doing about 19 damage a round, so I decided to fight him, I suppose out of troll-like stupidity, as he was just going to steal a few coins and teleport away.

In any case, he kept missing me and I kept doing damage to him. A fruit bat was behind him in a corridor, so he couldn't dance around. I looked at my weapon and discovered that the dagger I had found earlier in the level turned out to be "excellent" and was doing 39.9 damage a round. So I kept fighting him and he kept missing and I just killed him. That never happened before for me.

Warriors are very good at taking out Smeagol early if they can see him.

I've had a few games where I found a DL1 'Thanc and been able to easily slaughter weaklings like Smeagol as soon as they showed up. (Of course, at least one of those, I was playing priest, but that's how Angband luck goes. An early weapon that good, you just use it and pretend you're playing warrior until you get enough CL for the really useful spells to be castable.) Or an early source of see invis, and I can easily take him out from range. Or there's always a lucky shot with a wand of wonder (ideal for Smeagol, because even if he ends up hasted, he still can't do anything worse than stealing your gold).

He has become a lot easier to kill, because his chance to steal and poof is lower. I have no idea when exactly that happened and why, but I know you can blame Nick
