    Figures (Best Ulfang drop??)

Ulfang drops Kelek's Grimoire of Power at dlvl 35 - 1750'... and I'm a Ranger.
Oh well, at least I'm not a Priest, Paladin, or Warrior. I will have WoD in 10 clvl's at clvl 37. I also found a ring of strength and potion of strength around 200'. That goes along nicely with:

    the Halberd of Vaindelma (5d5) (+11,+20) <+3>
Dropped by Draebor, the Imp at 1600 feet (level 32)

    +3 strength.
    +3 intelligence.
    +3 searching skill.
    +3 tunneling.
    Slays dragons (powerfully), demons (powerfully).
    Branded with lightning.
Provides resistance to acid, fire, dark.
    Provides protection from fear.
Cannot be harmed by acid, fire.
Grants the ability to see invisible things.

    Combat info:
    2.8 blows/round.
With +1 STR and +0 DEX you would get 3.1 blows
With +0 STR and +2 DEX you would get 3.3 blows
Average damage/round: 215.7 vs. creatures not resistant to
lightning, 307.2 vs. dragons, 307.2 vs. demons, and 124.2 vs.
    others.

My previous weapon was a dagger of slay demon.

Even for a ranger, Kelek is valuable. WoD and Rune really help in certain situations

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining ;^) I just found it ironic.
I'm not seeing Rune in Kelek's as a Ranger tho (4.0.5), only Earthquake, Bedlam, and WoD.
I'll make plenty use of WoD.

Still alive for now... Need a bow tho, Long Bow +8 +8 isn't cutting it anymore at dlvl 38...

And, it's over. Not really sure how that Lesser Titan got a double move on me. I quaffed !Speed, !Berserk, then stone to mud to open the room up. After I killed the Hill Giant, the Titan advanced to the hole in the wall, and then hit me. I notice I got hit, I hit him, and he killed me during his next turn. I'm really not liking High-Elf xp penalty...

The experience penalty isn't the problem. Titans are just bad news all around (Teleport other is the only defense.)

Yeah, he double moved me. He stepped into the hole the Hill Giant was in, picked up a Bastard Sword, and hit me. Not expecting or noticing that he hit me, I hit him while low on hp's... I also noticed that my speed was normal after I died. I haven't noticed if it goes back to normal after death or not, but the message log clearly showed quaffing the speed, berserk, failing stone to mud, and then casting stone to mud. A couple hits to kill the Hill Giant, then I was going to test out the waters with the Titan...

Maybe you got slowed by something? Temporary speed would then leave you at net normal speed, assuming no equipment modifiers.

That must have been the case. I should have taken a print screen of the message log.
