Trouble moving without pressing "." first ( V 4.05)

Afternoon - first time I've tried Vanilla in a loooong time (since v3.32, apparently). I've downloaded v4.05, got the aesthetics all set up except... I can't move.

Not totally true - if I press the "." and then a number key then I move as expected - but I've not been able to find any option to, say, move 1 square NW by just pressing 7. Probably user ineptitude - or has direct movement via the number-pad been removed at some point between v3.xx and now?

Yep - that's the first thing I did. By contrast, I just opened FAAngband and my @ can run around there using just the number pad with no problems at all...

Are you using a completely clean installation? This sounds like keymaps aren't being loaded properly.

Whaddya know? I deleted and re-installed (the Windows pre-compiled, from rephial) and it's working absolutely fine now. Cheers, takk - guess we'll never know how I broke the first one...
