    Divine or Arcane

This thread may already exist somewhere, so sorry if it does!

So I've been playing around with some of the hybrid classes, and I just can't see the logic in using Arcane magic over Divine. I've had some excellent luck with mages in the past, but the ranger's lack of spells in Raal's and Kelek's and the Rogue's lack of any offensive spells just doesn't work for me. I've played some great games as a paladin, and even though they don't get any offensive prayers until OoD, they've just worked out so much better for me.

    So,

    1) What are some basic tactics with the Ranger? I realise that the extra shots and starting with a bow is is great advantage, but after that wears off, i just don't see where to go.

    2) How do you heal efficiently as an arcane user? When I killed Morgoth with a mage, I relied on Healing, *Healing* and Life to keep me alive, but it wasn't great to keep them around cold hounds and such. After I played priest, the healing prayers (PDC especially) just seem so much better.

    3) How do you excel as a rogue? Race selection seems to be the most important thing, but I've been killed numerous times as a hobbit rogue from just bad luck, so it seems that having heaps of str and con are generally better than playing rogue.

And on a totally unrelated note, what music do you listen to when playing?

    Thanks!

    1) A good bow with enchanted ammo can put out huge amounts of damage very quickly. Later in the game rangers can enchant and brand weapons so with the general store this means you'll always be able to get enchanted arrows.

    2) Less useful in combat, but casting cure light wounds heals 15% for 3 SP, and keeping some !CCW uses up an inventory slot but you can afford to drop them if you want.

    3) I haven't played many rogues but with good stealth you can kill easy juicy targets one at a time for efficient leveling and loot, and with detect treasure you won't wander around places where there aren't any items.

I like to listen to almost anything that I can tune out as long as it isn't super slow and relaxing. Like upbeat instumental.

It doesn't wear off. You can win with ranger without books because of that. Good enough bow and ammo and you make more damage than any other class into game.

1.) Shooting things with arrows. If you find that isn't doing it for you, learn about hockey sticks.

2.) The best way to heal efficiently is not to take damage. You don't need anything more than potions. If you don't like getting hit by cold breath, don't get hit by cold breath.

        3.) smh
