    Ranger's extra shots with extra shot bow?

    Does a Ranger still get his native +1 extra shots on top of the extra shots a bow with extra shots has?

    EDIT: Holy Canoli, Robin! I picked up a Short Bow of Extra Might at 150' and it has [+5, +19]! Now if I can not YASD immediately hereafter that'd be good! I picked up the Short Bow of Extra Shots the very next level down at 200'. I don't know its stats yet, but I will be putting in storage for now!

    Okay, I must gloat some more: First thing I pick up on DL5 is {splendid} cap of WIS <+2>, Got FrAct gloves at 50' and Farmer Maggot dropped a Westernesse maul. All this and I'm only CL5/DL5.

    And I read an unknown scroll and descend to DL11 and die shorty thereafter because I don't think 17 health is too little to be at distance from a baby white dragon. Cone breath mighta saved me. Of course quaffing some health potion immediately instead moving forward to be in range would have been the sensible play. {facepalm}

    You got an item of Westernesse from Maggot!? All he ever gives me are useless things like Tulars (+2, +4)

      I sure did blow a good start. Ranger with <+3> [5, 19] bow.

      Well, another great start. You know it's a good start when you're putting Forsagil into your home because you found a better weapon Narthanc (81dmg a round against non-fire resistant critters) when you first went into the dungeon (50' 1-6). Then I read an unidentifed scroll which took me to 400' where I immediately found Forsagil (level feeling 1-5) and didn't die this time.

        +2 extra shots. One at clvl 20 and other at clvl 40 (IIRC, has been a while that I have played ranger). So at >clvl 40 with extra shot bow you have four shots.

          Thank you for the reply Timo.

          You approach the Oracle and her shimmering radiance puts you in a state of awe and peace. She lays her hands of light on your head and speaks, her voice like songs of ethereal whispers: "The RNG Gods are about to smile on you kindly." You bow humbly to the Oracle and then find a staircase of mazes winding down to DL29. There you stumble upon a ring and put it on; a ring of Speed <+5>. You really do feel blessed, as you found two excellent pieces of elvendkind equipment from two orc uniques on DL22 (Elven Cloak <+1> speed and stealth and a [40, +10] elvenkind of Resistance +rDisenchant). At that moment I thought, now all I need to find is a weapon with some speed on it and I'll really be doing swimmingly, but even if I do ti will probably be less powerful than my very handy Detahanc, and, who am I kidding? I'm not going to find a weapon with speed on it, too!

          You figure you've probably found the thing the Oracle was predicting for you, but you decide to explore more of the level, as you found the ring of speed quite early on. You find a lair of Uruks and their leaders, Azog, the King of the Uruks and his son. Wonderful, maybe they'll drop something nice for me. You easily defeat them with your trusty Dethanc, ring of speed and ring of damage you found earlier [+10] and smile as you see one {special} after another fall from their bodies. Galadriel's phial, nice. Hollenheth, pConf very much appreciated. What's this? A Lance of the Eorlingas? <+2> strength, dexterity and speed! Well I'll be a pukelman's paunch, but will it match the damage of Dethanc? [+13, +21] Oh, I see what the Oracle meant by RNG smiling on me! Wow, damage supercedes the Dethanc handily. And has slay evil on it. I figure I might as well finish off the level and right before leaving the level I read a an unknown scroll I had been holding onto for a bit: *enchant armor* and my Elven Cloak goes from [6, +4] to [6, +8]. (!) Never seen an *enchant armor* boost an item that much, unless it was negative. RNG smiling on me. My speed is now +8 and I'm on DL29. Fantabulous. I promise I won't die in the next 500 turns. =/

          The level feeling was 3-7. Man, level sure was a score (no vaults, just super friendly RNG).

          This is one reason why I don't like to bypsass the DL20s too quickly. Those orc uniques love to drop the goods.
