Rogue seems to be about as "far" from a mage as I'm comfortable playing. I just can't do without the swiss-amy knife of utilities in the spellbooks.
Killed by stupidity of course. At the end of clearing out a vault, why not attack that sleeping Ethereal dragon? I only had base speed +5 and was out of all speed consumables, had no dark resistance, but had that inexplicable "I'm invulnerable" feeling.
It double moved me: breathed dark then breathed light. Just about the worst possible outcome, and of course I should have seen it coming. "You die."
I had rods and wands of TO all ready to go, but at the last second decided to melee.
