Chess .. mmm, haven't played there, but probably ~1700-1800 on most servers, so a decent club player level, but no expert
Go .. about shodan/1-dan depending on server/community, so better than I am at chess but not hugely

Why not? It's my hobby time, I'm intending on getting relaxation and enjoyment for it - if Angband fits the bill, I'm not going to fix what ain't broke

One of my favorite things about Angband is that I can pick it up and play for a half hour, during my lunch break for example. It takes only a couple seconds to load, and I can exit immediately when I have to get back to real life.

Also, if I haven't played for a while, I can pick back up right where I left and I'm not confused or trying to remember what I'm doing or what I need to do next.
