    slow

I just tried to slow Morgoth, he was not affected. In the monster recall information the player can see that he cannot be scared, confused or slept.

Is slow covered by one of these three immunities or how does slow work? Should i have tried it more often?

He's not immune to it, but I do believe he gets a very high chance to save -- in my experience, debuffs rarely work on uniques.

There has been quite a bit of discussion as to how this could be improved (I'm sure someone will dig up the thread), but for now it's pretty much always better just to go for straight damage, or to buff yourself instead.

I have been most successful with stunning. It is practically same as short-period paralyzation for uniques. One of the high-level mage spells stuns in addition to damage which makes some of the uniques really easy to kill.

I remember one case where one of the ringwraiths summoned bunch of hounds, light and sound ones, and then got stunned and damaged by them. For fun I just stood there and let the hounds do the job for me (I had to give the final blow, monsters can't kill other monsters in angband). It was quite amusing.

I don't think that works with Morgoth though.

-Slow monster now works also against uniques but they have a saving throw. I find them useful in the early game. It may take some rounds jumping around e.g. Azog with ?Phase door and zapping the wand until you are satisfied but it does work.
