Frustrating Start

I think I just had the most frustrating start to a game I've ever had. About 5 turns in I saw Maggot. I chased him into a corner and took care of him and he dropped Resistances of Scarabtarices. Of course, I'm playing a priest...Oh well, down into the dungeon...
