Tenser's has Greater Recharging. Nothing else in the game provides it...

Yeeesss......and which messy mage spilled orc blood on the *rest* of the spells?

Regardless of what happened to the other spells, Greater Recharging is worth the inventory slot all on its own. Being able to recharge Wands of Annihilation, Staves of the Magi, etc. with reasonable reliability is a fantastic ability.

You mentioned leaving the book at home, and I was trying to dissuade you from such an action.

My guess is that the other spells in Tenser's were "removed" from the mage list because mages "shouldn't" be interested in casting Heroism, Berserker, etc. and wading into combat. But just because a spell probably isn't useful doesn't mean it shouldn't be accessible.

OK. Yes I found a Staff of the Magi and my current kit pretty much requires my mage to spell everything to death (have all the books now) since my melee weapon has terrible damage and +ToHit but +4 (str,dex,wis,con) [this gets me to 18/*** int and 18/200 con] , so I see the benefits of having Tenser's in the inventory.

OK, I see, they're there for rogue at least. After the current rogue wins or dies, I'll try to get my first Ranger win and check there, too.
