hotkey to use running ?

I'm using the numpad for movement. But to run I have to hit `.`+numpad very frequently.

Can I use numpad = movement direction like normal, but
ctrl + numpad = run keybind ( which is .+direction )


note: I've tried mouse movement, but it seems to move differently than the sprint command.

If you're playing any of the thick clients, shift+direction should work?

What's wrong with "." + numpad to run? I'm using that in REAL-TIME Angband and it works well...

tbh I use shift+arrow for movement/exploration and only switch to numpad in combat(because of diagonals of course.)

On the subject of movement hot-keys, what about non-movement when attacking? It used to be that I could hold down Ctrl-arrow key, and attack but be assured I wouldn't accidentally move off my spot. I switched to a MacBook Pro due to the death of my PC and now if I try Ctrl-arrow key it gives me the Apple defaults for those actions. I guess it means I would have to go in and remove the Apple defaults.
