Two Questions : on feeding, and on destruction.

    Two questions:

-Do Destruction and *Destruction* grant XP for the enemies killed in the devastation?
Just curious because the destruction spells claim to instantly destroy monsters outright, and have an enormous range, so there are probably monsters getting destroyed that I don't know about. But I almost never use them because of the mess they leave and the difficulty in getting around afterwards!

-Is there any benefit to actually physically eating rations over using Satisfy Hunger?
I've always seen "Magically renders you well-fed (but not satiated)" in the description of Satisfy Hunger, but wasn't sure about that "not satiated" aspect.

No, you don't get experience for blowing up monsters with Destruction. This is mostly used to get rid of summons / monsters that you really don't want to deal with, especially if there are more than one of them in LOS who can oneshot-kill you. The "mess" it causes is actually really useful in occluding LOS when fighting summoners.

Satisfy hunger is superior to rations in every way, IIRC. I think that out-of-date helptext means that you'll still have some hunger left in the tank after using Satisfy Hunger, which is good to know if you still want to quaff potions afterwards. AFAIK, this is a nonissue now that "gorged" status has been removed.

That's because they are not killed, just removed. Think of it as really destructive mass teleport level.

Uniques removed by it are not gone.

I think it's even just called "delete monster" in the code

          (assuming satisfy hunger scroll)
But not to elvish waybread. Those are lighter than scrolls, cure poison and some damage, you can eat them while confused or blinded and are not vulnerable to any element. Warriors favorite food, especially now that you can't get gorged anymore.

All other classes get satisfy hunger as spell so they don't need any other food source, but warrior do.

Scrolls and all books that contain Satisfy Hunger can be burnt or destroyed by acid, while rations and all other comestibles are heavier and can be eaten by Green Glutton Ghosts. Functionally that's about all that's different between them, aside from Waybread's curative effects.
