I dived down a bit and start wondering what's going to happen with all the low level uniques I missed and if they are ever going to show up again (I think i'm missing quite a few ringwraiths and uniques cause I wanted to dive down for better equips)

Are there ways to change the color of some monsters? Sometimes I cast a detection and I'm not able to find these wraiths or uniques that blend in the dark. I got hit by Tselakus twice before I realized she was there.
Thanks for all the help recently, I appreciate it a lot.
there should be an option to make Uniques appear as purple. ( I usually do this to distinguish Uniques from non Uniques), and also to shimmer multi-colored things.

By the way I noticed by switching your equipment around you also doubled your HP, that will help you out a lot, looks like you are swiftly on the road to winning...just be careful, lots of nasties like Demilitches and undead beholders around..a good rule of thumb is that if something takes your hp down very fast get out of there fast.

Great! I should've checked the help menu before asking, but thanks for pointing it out. Guess that the black color was there just for flavor instead of a sneaky attempt to throw someone off guard.
I should also squelch the stupid priest books now that I have no concern of money.

seeing that you are unfamillar with deep DL monsters I would use the same strategy that most Use when they face Morgoth...Don't let your HP get low until you understand the monster your facing, some have nasty surprises, and their is 1 particular Unique you might find soon called the Tarrasque..don't even attempt it, run. Once you hit CL50 have should be around 900 HP or so you can be a bit more flexible, for the moment you are pretty safe with over 600 hp and +24 speed, just don't let those HP get down. Probing might possibly help you understand the monster before you engage it.

Speaking of which... never ever let any type of Mystic get into melee range. They can end your game instantly without pStun.

Lacking pConf can also be very dangerous, but as long as you don't let anything get into melee range you should be able to avoid permanent confusion.

(These are obviously not dangerous enough to go below 600 HP since that would mean that you could get instakilled from a distance.)

This is slightly hyperbolic. Normal Mystics are, if I recall correctly, utterly unable to stun you because their attacks do too little damage. Master Mystics will occasionally stun you and could hypothetically knock you out, but would need several turns to build it up. Grand Master Mystics are the ones that you absolutely do not want to melee without stun protection.

Only if they are faster than you. Even GMM can't KO you directly, it needs at least two turns. You can go from normal to heavy stun in one round though.

The stunning does increase your failure rate, which isn't fun :-/

I've just finished raiding another medium - largish vault (I think I saw larger ones before) and I now switched around my items a bit. After finding out that cons actually maxes out at /200 I tried experimenting around to make the best out of it.

I'm open for further suggestions on how to customize and what I should prepare for in the last fight, I'm missing a lot of unique kills, so I'm going to try and stay until I'm lvl 50 and then start the final duel.

I never saw a wand of annialation yet, and the bm never sold them either... Probably also need to hoard in more of those potions too.

I'm on DL 80 and have found several wands of annilation so it's just a matter of time until you find some...start hoarding up any potions of *Healing* and Life you find for the final fights, and save the normal potions of healing for any Unique fights you come across, also scrolls of Destruction and Mass Banishment will also be useful against Morgoth. Any Uniques left behind will probably be summoned by Morgoth so keep that in mind..it's good to have most Uniques dealt with by the time you face him. Unless you have saved Smeagol and Boldor king of the Yeeks..that's always funny to see them around championing Morgoth when he summons them.

                      Finally won!
I just went with the equipment I assembled in the end, even though there were some nice equips i've got later on but I was too lazy to change around. Levels were way too hard to get later on and I got bored in the end from fighting astars pits, they gave alot of potions and wands I needed but the last two level were way too much. Fortunately I over prepared by quite alot but even then I used around 50 drain life charges and all my annialation wand charges.

Things were much simpler when he was only able to summon the qualythug unique. Zap, cast banish, Zap, phase. rinse and repeat.

Now that I've won my first Angband, it's probably a good time to leave it until I found myself opening the exe again.

Thanks again for all the help.

                      Signing out
