With Morgoth, always heal as soon as your HP fall below 600. Make sure it's zero-fail healing too. If there are other baddies around, you will need to heal sooner.

You should do one of the following as soon as he summons nasties:

    (1) Banishment/Mass banishment: don't affect uniques
    (2) Teleport other on Morgoth, then *destruction* (does affect uniques)
    (3) Teleport self or Phase door. Phase door becomes useful at breaking line-of-sight only after Morgoth hits you with his shatter (=earthquake) attack, or if you fight him in a destructed area.

Always use zero-fail options unless you are certain the baddies do not have the combined fire-power to take you down in one turn.

    Good luck!

As a priest, assuming he has Wrath of God he can cast Banish Evil at 0% failure rate, which will teleport away all evil monsters in LOS, unique or not.

Teleporting away uniques is somewhat preferable to using Word of Destruction on them, as that way they can't get summoned again (though they may be able to wander back to the fight on their own). Try to avoid using Teleport Self or its equivalents, though; if you fill the rest of the level with teleported-away summons then you're liable to drop yourself next to them if you teleport.

Another note on teleport self. It is true that if you use it multiple times there is a risk you will land in an unsafe spot. However, after you teleported yourself you can just wait around for a few turns. The big M tunnels through walls, is really fast and seems to know where you are anywhere on the map. Meaning, if you just wait around after teleporting he will find you fairly quickly while most of the other baddies you teleported away from will stay where you left them.

Conversely, if you teleport Morgoth away, then he'll be back in a bit. So the only reason you'd teleport yourself away is if you need to get away from both Morgoth and someone else. In such situations, I prefer to use Phase Door, and rely on the fact that I fight in a Destructed area to mean that I'll be out of LOS of both of them after blinking. So far, so good.
