    Advice on Dragon Scale Armor

So I need some advice. My character currently has Blue Dragon Scale Mail (Dwarven). I just found Green Dragon Scale Male of Stealth. I''m wondering which to wear. Blue gives me strength and constitution, but no additional resistances I don't already have. Green gives me poison resistance, which I don't have. Which would be the best at this point?

    FYI, my character is:

At your current depth you're going to get more general use out of your Dwarven Blue Dragonscale, however I would still consider carrying the green one around as a swap if you have yet to find any other source of poison resist. At your current depth you don't really have to worry too much about poison YET, but you still before too long. You could still run into some Wyverns and, before too long, some other OOD poison breathers, and having that around to swap in when necessary could save your life. I'd probably ditch it once you've found a ring of poison resist or something else that weighs less than lugging around another set of armor.

Stick the Green DSM in your home, haul it out in another 1000' if you haven't found another source of poison resistance. The Dwarven Blue is better all-round armor when resistances aren't an issue, no question there.

I hope, with your rings and DSM, that you're blasting every monster you see with elemental ball attacks. Don't just wear those rings for the resistances!

Yep! With Aeglos, my rings and the DSM it's pretty easy to clear out the baddies!

          re: dragon scale male

I would rather prefer the green Dragon scale armour. It has a remarkable higher breath attack and i myself couldn't be bothered with always swap equipment.

Besides that i would advice to get a staff of teleportation. If things to totally bad, but you get no instant kill then i prefer to teleport rather than to run/quaff potions etc.
          Blondes are more fun!

I'd also prefer the green DSM. I too couldn't be bothered swapping equipment all the time. As a test, check out how much HP/damage/etc you lose when you take of your dwarven DSM, and decide whether you could live with it.

Edit: don't underestimate the power of stealth either.

Green all the way. I would prefer it over a) no rpoison, regardless of depth, and b) having to sac a ring slot for rpoison. Assuming FA can be covered somewhere else, then I'd prefer stealth over str/con at low levels even without resist consideratins. Typically, you can get more out of a ring slot than the stats from a dwarven armour.

Even finding Thalkettoth is no reason to let go of the green dsm; it offers 3 dex and 3 speed, something a good speed ring can top easily if you dont have the ring slot occupied by rpoison.

Sure you have found +3+ WIS amulet by now? Evenstar is useless junk compared to good WIS amulet for priests. 18/200 has enormous impact on your gaming if you also have pconf and pblind from somewhere. 0% failure means you don't have to carry potions or scrolls at all (though CCW potions are still good to have against stunning).

Thorin in home? Try to get that in your gear, that +4 to CON has huge impact on your survival. Though right now that +3 speed from Thalkettoth is better.

I know. I was trying to work Thorin in without losing the resistances of my Elvenkind shield. Finally did it (by finding a ring of Flames)! but now I'm having to use Nimloth for See Invisible instead of Aiglos. Still a good weapon and the +3 speed is nice, but it doesn't do as much damage.
