    Slay Demon /Slay Undead

Do people ever use a Slay Demon / Slay Undead ego weapon?

    My thoughts are
    • If an ego like this drops early, say < 2000 ft, then I figure there aren't really enough demons or undead to bother me, so I'll choose another weapon.
    • If it drops >2000 ft, then I'll have found a much better weapon already.

Do warriors sometimes keep them as part of a selection of weapons - using their extra strength and lack-of-spellbooks to carry a 'quiver' of melee options?

If there was general agreement that these ego's weren't so useful, perhaps
    • they could be combined into one? (at least slightly more useful)?
    • Or could they grant 'telepathy-like detection' just for undead or demons?
    • Or activated for a dispel evil/undead affect?

To be honest, I rarely use non-splendid egos at all (or at least not for long).
I like your idea of combining slay evil/undead though.

While we're at it, why does slay animal slay 'less' than the other slays?

I always assumed it was because a broad range of monsters were categorized as animals. Same argument for slay evil I guess. But that was just my assumption.

There's no particular reason why we couldn't have weapons of Holy Might to mirror the ammo. They'd have Slay Evil/Undead/Demon and could be a slightly-more-common substitute for Holy Avenger.

Given that Demons and Undead are evil, I assume this does x2 against evil and x3 against Undead and Demons?

Yeah, I rarely use any of the Slay X weapons, even when they're *slay*.

*slay evil* is the only single-slay that I use sometimes. Usually for the random ability (ESP). Single brand is different matter, acid and electricity affect so many monsters that they actually make sense sometimes just for damage.
