Autoinscriptions - where/how are they saved ?

When I make a new character (new savefile) I get the option to save, but not to load, autoinscriptions. When I do save them, it says they get saved to the <name>.prf file, however, if I load another chars .prf file, I dont get the autoinscriptions. So how can I load an autoinscription setup ?

I have to drop and pick up things in my inventory for them to autoinscribe, however.

I tried dropping and picking up, but it didnt autoinscribe. However, what happened is that my "other" char's name was different from it's save files, and I loaded <savefile>.prf (which doesnt exist) instead of <char-name>.prf, where everything is saved. My bad. Thanks Matt.
