    Level feelings

As diving deeper in dungeon, I've come across more and more often with level feelings "This place seems terribly dangerous" and "This place seems murderous" . What would cause those on ~2500 - 2750 ft ? Should I explore, or just skip those ?

Also, what else to keep an eye on at those depths and little deeper ?

    Here's my current char http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=16002

Often that indicates a vault or at least pit on the level. They are generated by both monster density and monster difficulty. Vaults tend to have OoD monsters and high monster density, so you can get them from it. Pits sometimes have OoD monsters, but very high densities.

Now that you're in the middle of the dungeon, level feelings are not going to be enough information to tell you whether you should skip or explore a level. You need to know what the actual monsters on it are. Flee if they're too powerful for you, explore if they aren't.

Thanks! Explored couple of "terribly dangerous" levels, and found some nice stuff

Does "difficult" equal ood monster, or difficult compared to my char's stats ?

The former. Absolutely nothing in the game changes based on what kind of character you have or how "good" they are.

My basic approach when exploring levels with danger warnings is to use heaps of detection and move slowly around the map. I use a potion of enlightenment too if I have one. If you use that, you can immediately find the location of the vault if there is one (big room surrounded by permanent rock).

Once I'm near enough to the vault I cast detection, and go through the monsters one by one to see if there are any that I don't want to face (no matter the potential reward). I am using "complete creature knowledge", which is a (minor) cheat option. If you aren't using it, then be aware that deep level uniques and dragons/demons/etc. may be capable of doing 500+ damage in one attack (typically breath), and if they're faster than you then you could be toast before you even get a hit.

Finally, many vaults are separated into smaller rooms by granite walls, which means you may be able to explore parts of them, while staying away from the big baddies.
