Imagine my surprise when @ identified a wicker shield and it turned out to be The Wicker Shield of Elros. Usually a cause for celebration, it was just strange. @ was already wearing Elros. Now @ has two of them. Aren't artifacts supposed to be unique?

There is a game where you can actually dualwield shields. I forget which one, and also dont know if anyone would actually want to do that. But it should give decent AC if nothing else. -
Are they the same artifact, or do they just have the same name? I wouldn't be surprised if the name-generation system doesn't try to make certain each artifact actually gets a different name, because the odds of finding two with the same name are so low. But if you actually have two Wicker Shields of Elros with the same stats, then that's getting into the realm of statistical impossibility and probably indicates a bug.

When they were small, Elros and Elrond were both given wicker shields for their birthday. But Elros beat up Elrond and took his wicker shield. So now there are two Wicker Shields of Elros.

If you 'I'nspect the two shields, what does the screen say their origins are? Like, found on the floor, dropped by a monster, conjured forth by magic, etc.Comment
