    I think, maybe, there's a version of Hellband that runs on Java, and didn't someone make an Angband server a while back, so you could play online.

      PHP wouldn't be a good choice to port Angband to, because PHP is designed to run on the server = every move would require reloading the page.

        More realistic would be some AJAXY way to connect a console version of the game to a web page, so you wouldn't have any game logic actually running in the page itself. This kind of thing will be much easier once the core/UI split is done.

          It would be fun to see it using emscripten.
