    You can download the nightly builds here. But be warned that they're going to be buggier than the official releases. 3.5 isn't out yet, so if you want to play it you're pretty much stuck with the nightlies.
    I'm quite happy with 3.4.1.

    I think that if you're going to have level feelings at all, they should be useful. Useless features are better "squelched".

    But I have two more questions.

    Somebody insinuated somewhere that bows are better than crossbows for rangers. Is this true and why?

    I'm a human ranger clvl 39 at dlvl 50 wielding Orome (found that really early, couldn't believe my luck). I also have an armor of resistance and my stats are:

    STR 18/122
    INT 18/180
    DEX 18/100
    CON 18/100

    AC 132
    HP 466
    SP 293

    Speed +4, but I can reliably haste myself.

    My resists:
    Acid, Elec, Fire Cold
    Light, Shard, Nexus
    (no poison )
    ESP, See Invis, Free Action.

    I get 5 blows/round with Orome. My bow is ok:
    Light Crossbow of Extra Might (+4) (+13, +20)
    but I don't have any ego ammo.

    I have Resistances of Scarabtarices, Raal's Tome of Destruction and Kelek's Grimoire of Power (oh, Tenser's, where art thou?)

    So my question: Am I chicken to be at dlvl 50? Where should I be?

    Edit: Oh, and I just found Cammithrim .

      Bows are better for rangers because they get bonus shots/round with them (I think they get 1 extra shot at level 20 and another at level 40?). That's a nice Light Crossbow, but a decent magic longbow would probably beat it because you'd be shooting twice as many arrows per unit time. Only works with shortbows and longbows though.

      For future reference, you can create a character dump by hitting 'f' on the character screen. Then you can post it either here in [ code ] tags, or on the ladder.

        But then my cheating ways would be plain for all to see :P. I'm using no death. When I was a kid I used to play the game with peak into object creation and I used to save scum like a madman. I actually like it very much that peak into object cheat was removed, I'm sure I couldn't have resisted using it, but it turns out it's more fun playing without it. Can't quite bring myself to go without the no-death cheat yet. I get too invested in my character. One thing I like about this cheat, which the old version didn't have, is that you don't have to save scum.

        Sometimes I wonder how anyone knows these hidden things, like this ranger-bow thing. Thank you for the info!

          Hmm, turns out my cheating ways are not plain to see. Doh.

          So anyway, I just found these Slippers of Speed, now I definitely need to delve further down. If I found some rPoison and pConfusion I reckon I could go pretty far down. What do you guys think is a good dlvl for me?

            Well, I personally would not consider leaving the 40's without rpoison, but then again, I'm very conservative like that!
