    subwindow setup

Hi, is there any way to preserve subwindow settings? The preservation of subwindow locations is ok as those details are contained in the angband.ini file. However, the content of the subwindows is not preserved (i.e. term-1 = player (basic), term-2 = invent/equip) when creating new characters. I seems these settings are saved within the actual save file. Is there any reason the code hasn't been modified to save these settings in the angband.ini file?

I've tested this in 3.5-dev and previous versions.

    Cheers.

You save subwindow contents to a pref file using the '=' options screen. In current 3.5 dev the option is marked "Save subwindow setup to a pref file".

The reason is a technical one and not a good one in terms of user experience. Basically, the core game handles what goes in each window, but the frontend (which varies between platforms) handles where they are and if they are open.
takkaria whispers something about options. -more-
