    Inscription for don't pick up?

Is there such an inscription for not picking up an item that matches your inventory?

I don't want to turn off auto-pickup, but with immfire I don't want to have to keep dropping books that are slowing me down. I only need one copy of each!

    Many thanks.

There's the option (pickup_inven) that is on by default, so change it from the option menu.

Has anyone posted a guide to inscriptions in general?

I've never inscribed anything and have no idea how inscription works, or indeed how useful it actually is.

I wanted to leave pickup on, for my potions etc., but was hoping there might be a magic inscription that would couteract that for specific items in your inventory. No biggie though and thanks for the reply.

There's some useful stuff in the help file (reached by hitting [?] and selecting 'customising the game').

The one there in 3.4 misses out loads of stuff. I recommend you read the relevant section here instead:

There was a thread on uses for inscriptions here.

I usually inscribe books with !k and then squelch them when I have however many I want. You won't pick up any more, but you won't squelch the ones you have.

Good thinking. I needed that as well: books are everywhere, and they weigh a lot, so after major fights I tend to get slowed by them.
