    Some current situation advices?

This is my current character (Luckily not dead).

So after 6 months with MMOs and such, I somehow wander myself back to Angband, it's funny how I always seem to stop and then come back time after time.

Unluckily, I have yet to get a victory, as I can count to about 7 different character deaths around the dive lvl 50 roundish (Except from the ranger, I tried and failed all classes). My last one was a one hit poison breath by some critter I didnt see before and since that day I knew poison resist is a must.

My paladin seems nice, however with boss fights i just spam potions and go man-mode with bless and speed potions on. I guess that's how it works.

I also find monsters these level have extremely annoying experience leech, so my current plan is to find something that can hold life before venturing forward.

Past experiences from mage characters also suggest that the Turn mud to stone spell is extremely useful for some situations where you can dig into a treasure vault dodging some undesirable fights. Does a priest/paladin have one or should I get some equipment that can dig walls for me?

Any thoughts/advices that could help me with my character is welcomed. I just want to go and get pass the 50 sth dive lvl for now and meet new enemies while learning more about angband.

Hold Life is a luxury, not a necessity. Having your experience drained will typically just slow down the rate at which you get to your next level; it's only rarely imminently dangerous. If you're bothered by it, consider bringing some potions of Restore Life Levels with you into the dungeon; they can be ditched once you find something more important to carry.

Stone to Mud is handy, but any sufficiently strong character can dig through solid rock with whatever they happen to be holding in their hands. If you 'I'nspect your weapon, it will tell you how many turns (on average) it will take you to dig through various types of terrain. With your 18/168 STR you should have no trouble digging through granite, so the only thing Stone to Mud gains you is the ability to dig at range.

Your gear is somewhat low-powered, especially that shield and caestus. The Boots of Stability are wholly redundant with Arvedui. At your level, there's no point in carrying Exorcism and Dispelling; the only useful spell in it is Heal and you're too bad at casting to use it reliably yet. You have a copy of Resistances in your inventory that you forgot to sell (have you considered playing a no-selling game? Highly recommended!). Leave some Potions of Speed in your house for use in the final fights (oh, you're already doing this; my word that's a lot of potions); try using a Staff of Speed instead once you find one. Protection from Evil is worthless; it only protects against evil monsters that are no more than your own level. The Rod of Fire Balls is probably not very useful. Consider inscribing "!*" (without the quotation marks) on your Staff of Teleport so you don't use it accidentally. Ditto for Destruction, Banishment, etc. items.

A number of items in your home will almost certainly never be used: Holy Infusions, Mushrooms of Second Sight/Fast Recovery, Ring of Soulkeeping, Gondricam, Executioner's Sword of Gondolin

Why on Earth aren't you using that Shield of the Haradrim? It would let you ditch your Ring of Resist Poison for a decent Ring of Damage too.

In general you look to be pretty solid; from here on out it's mostly a matter of getting more stat and speed boosts and finding better weapons, while not sacrificing important resists and abilities. Hint: the only resists you need are acid/fire/cold/elec/poison.

      Thanks for the advice.
Well. I checked around and everybody's saying that Aggragate monster is a Big No unless you get to the end of the game. Maybe it won't matter that much given I'm a paladin and they'll wake up anyway?
the Rod of fire balls are mainly used for some long range pick off for the nasty hounds or I want to lure sth out to have a fair 1v1 fight. Maybe i could've just use OoD instead.
I'm just wondering, once you have resist to a certain element(say nexus), would just be totally unafraid of nexus attacks messing up? Or is it only for low nexus dmg (like nexus hound breath's).
Ditto? Is that a term for finding and storing? And for the potions of speed, I usually go and buy all i can get from the local black market, so I guess I got a quite a few from the store.

I don't see aggravation anywhere in the description of the Haradrim shield, nor in the artifact definition files. Even if it had aggravation, though, it could well still be worth using; your stealth is only Fair after all, and that shield will make you significantly better at combat, especially once you get a damage ring to replace your poison resistance ring.

I'd suggest you rely on your crossbow for long-range sniping; it'll be more consistent and it doesn't need to recharge. Best to get into the habit of using it now. Orb of Draining isn't yet reliable for you, since you have so little mana; reserve that mana for casting detection spells.

As for elements, if you have resistance to an element, then you are completely immune to all of its side-effects. So as long as you have resist nexus, nexus attacks won't teleport you or scramble your stats; as long as you have resist sound, sound attacks won't stun you (but gravity and plasma still will, as will melee attacks), etc.

Thanks for the clarification. Gravity breath's was 50% of my previous characters' death reason. Hope it won't happen again.
For the aggravate, I guess the item description(lore) says "draws attention to the wielder" so I just assumed. Also after I checked out I guess the information I found t was a older version(and more op version too, because it gives +1 to shooting speed too).

As long as you've Identified an item you know all of the item's properties -- they are are show in the "formalized" list of properties. The lore text is purely for flavour (and, as you've discovered, is sometimes out of date.)
