    potion of slowness bugged?

So from the description I thought that a potion of slowness gives you -10 speed for some turns. 'When drunk, it slows you for 1d25+15 turns.'
Character is in town, I first quaffed an unidentified one, and it just said 'tried' with no status effect. I then use an id?, and then quaffed another, still no effect, playing v3.3.2. No change to speed nor any other visible difference. Intended or bug?

Are you a Gnome? Free Action makes you immune to slowing.

IMO that should not be the case in this case. Gravity, inertia and mind blast thru saving throw still slows even with FA. Anything you do to yourself should cause the effect unless there is specific protection to that effect. There is no pSlow in the game. Potion of sleep (paralyzation), not slowness, should give away existence of FA.

Yes, the char is a gnome, good catch. And I agree with the other poster, that free action should protect me from paralyzing (for example with a sleep potion) but not from slowing down no matter from what source.

I think that's kind of opposite to the idea of Free Action. In AD&D it usually means "cannot be slowed or hasted". Of course, that would mean that Haste Self or Potion of Speed would have no effect, but...
