    Ladder restructure request

Instead of arranging the ladder by who spent the most time grinding, would it not be far more interesting being utilized as a measure of skill, such as reorganizing it by who beat it the quickest, having ventured furthest fastest? Emphasizing skill over patience. I believe the tournaments do just that. I'm new here so maybe this isn't the new exciting idea I think it is... haha I'm just kidding. It's genius. Who's in charge around here!?

I want to get my name high on the scoreboard, but not if it requires an eleven digit body count. Especially if I'm going to get through every variant before I die. Probably impossible. But a man can dream can't he...?

It's a good idea, but there are a couple of problems with turncount:
Firstly, a lot of old (and not-so-old) Angband versions don't include turncount in character dumps. Would these be sent to the top or bottom of the list?
Secondly, There are two types of characters with low turncounts: fast winners and early deaths. Ordering by turncount alone wouldn't produce the result you're after.

That said, it would be nice if turncount was one of the options for ladder ordering.

I always though it would be nice if there were check boxes to include/exclude any version or combination of versions from your view. Maybe you're only interested in the version you're playing, or only dumps from 3.1 to 3.3, something like that.

You could always copy what Sil does - it orders by how good your game is (max depth 0-20, got 1-2-3 silmarils, escaped with 1-2-3 silmarils) and then breaks ties by how fast you got to that point, turn count.

That would be ideal, but not trivial to implement in the PHP ladder.

I was just parsing through the ladder and was thinking the same thing.

Maybe it could be displayed in a spreadsheet format, with checkboxes at the top to select filters such as which version(s) to display, with sorting via a click at each column top. Not sure how much work that would entail

Also, it would be nice if one could search for artifacts, just to see, whether certain things have been used or not.
